19 Months

Big boy Will is 19-months old tomorrow! He has had a couple of Santa Claus encounters this week. The first came on Wednesday when the three of us went to a tree-lighting ceremony on base. Santa walked right by and said "hi" to Will. Will stared at him for about ten seconds then went back to eating his oatmeal cookie. He was pretty indifferent. So we thought he wouldn't mind an official Santa Claus visit so we could get some pictures. We took him to Bass Pro Shop this morning because they were doing free pictures with Santa (unlike the mall). We got there when the store opened but Santa didn't get there until 10:00. So we killed some time looking at the fish and walking around the store. When it came time to see Santa, will was pretty tired and ready to go home. He walked up to Santa and stared at him, then Santa picked him up and put him on his lap. Will did not like that! So we got some pictures of Will very unhappy on Santa's lap. Somehow I think Santa will still be good to Will this year! Once we got home, Will ate a big lunch and had a long nap and now he's in much better spirits.

Among Will's new words this week are "car" and "water." Car comes out more like "dar." And when Will says water, he has trouble with the "w" so he sounds like a pirate, saying "argh." Will is still doing a great job not touching the ornaments or the Christmas tree but he does like to turn the tree lights on and off using on/off button that sits on the ground so that you can use your foot to tap the lights on and off. Will enjoys tapping the button with his foot and watching the lights go on and off. Will also enjoys wearing our shoes around the house, as you can see below.

Finally, it's time we make our official blog announcement that we are expecting Baby Dickinson #2 in June! We had a bumpy start but I'm nearly 11 weeks along and feeling pretty good now. We're in for an exciting summer with a new baby and a move to the DC area!
