Merry Christmas #1

Merry Christmas #1! We had our Texas Christmas this morning since we'll be traveling soon. We started out with double chocolate peppermint waffles. Yum! Will is very good at opening presents and he dug into the first one- a Pooh and Friends on Safari playset. Once he had that open, though, he wanted to play with it instead of open more presents. I think this has been the longest "Christmas morning" I've ever been involved with! After each present Will opened, he would lose interest in opening more presents and he'd just want to play with the new toys. His favorite gift seems to be the blue rocking puppy. They have one at the nursery at church and he loves it. So Santa brought him one of his own and he's spent a lot of time on it this morning.

Other gifts Santa brought Will include a large dump truck with Mega blocks, a play kitchen and play vegetables, a Thomas the Train beginner set with Thomas, a caboose and wooden track, a car track rug, two new matchbox cars, a 24 set of Playdough (which may stay in the closet for a while because he just wants to eat it), new stacking blocks, animal magnets and a little school play set. Santa was very good to Will! It was a good Christmas and we still have two more to go!

The three of us have had mild colds this week. Will is doing a lot of coughing but has been in good spirits. We went to David's office Christmas party yesterday and had a good time. Will has been enjoying the bounty of Christmas cookies! In addition to cookies, Will has been doing a great job eating this week. Sometimes he gets very finicky but this week he has his appetite back. The big discovery this week is that Will loves lasagna! So far he doesn't care for "kid" food like grilled cheese but he loves lasagna, chili, pizza and other more grown-up fare. One day this week for lunch, Will had a cereal and fruit bar, a piece of cheese, a bowl of lasagna, an entire orange, a Christmas cupcake and two sippy cups of milk! I keep hoping he'll grow a little and his pants will stop falling down, but no such luck yet! In fact, in the middle of the Christmas party yesterday David and I looked over at Will and his jeans were down around his ankles! He's so tall that pants that fit him in length don't fit in the waist and I can't find a belt in his size!

Will has been talking a lot but I can't always remember which words are new. One time this week he saw an elephant on TV and pointed at it and said "elf!". Close enough! He has started saying a word that sounds like "teeth" when he wants to brush his teeth. And he loves pointing at vehicles and telling me "dar" (for "car"). So far, things that are apparently "dars" include a dump truck, a moving truck and a school bus. Will has also started jumping, which is hilarious. He doesn't always push off with both feet at the same time, but it's always fun to watch!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Hey girl! Look like a wonderful Christmas. =) So fun!!!
Graham has the same pants issue as Will. We have found that GAP jeans and pants fit Graham the best of any!!! If he doesn't have any, you've got to try those... =) Merry Christmas!!! Safe travels...
